MPL Association Partners with OutcomeCatalyst on Health Data Platform

The Medical Professional liability Association has entered into a strategic partnership with OutcomeCatalyst to provide the association’s members and their policyholders access to the company’s healthcare intelligence platform at discounted rates.

OutcomeCatalyst’s platform connects information stored across an organization’s existing systems, creating a shared source that can support employees, artificial intelligence tools and other workflows. The partnership is intended to help medical professional liability insurers, physician practices, hospitals and health systems reduce the administrative and financial risks associated with fragmented data.

The platform focuses on revenue-cycle management, claims documentation, scheduling and referrals, provider credentialing and monitoring, and the de-identification and monetization of data.

The companies said disconnected systems can increase administrative work, delay reimbursement and weaken the records healthcare organizations and insurers rely on during audits, claims disputes and compliance reviews.

Under the partnership, MPL Association members will receive a 15% discount, extended evaluation periods and priority onboarding support. Members may also extend the benefits to their policyholders.

“For our members and their insureds, we are always looking for solutions that can actually move the needle on the challenges keeping them up at night: administrative burden, claims risk or data that's scattered across a dozen systems," said Eric R. Anderson, president and CEO of the MPL Association. "OutcomeCatalyst’s approach gives our members and their policyholders something that has genuine value, as well as providing self-insured systems a direct path to more defensible operations."
