The Medical Professional Liability Association has appointed The Doctors Company chief operating officer Deepika Srivastava to its board of directors.

Srivastava previously served as executive vice president of medical professional liability and TDC Group shared services, overseeing the company’s MPL operations as well as technology, cybersecurity, innovation and enterprise project management across TDC Group business units.

She began her career at The Doctors Company as a business systems analyst with AP Capital and later served as chief information officer and chief information security officer. The MPL Association said Srivastava has promoted the responsible use of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve business performance while retaining human oversight.

“Deepika brings a proven track record of leadership and results, and I’m thrilled to welcome her to the MPL Association Board of Directors,” MPL Association president and chief executive officer Eric R. Anderson said. “Her insight and experience will be a tremendous asset as we fulfill our commitment to meet the evolving needs of our members and partners. We look forward to partnering with her and leveraging her expertise in the MPL industry to chart the Association’s path forward.”

Srivastava succeeds former ProAssurance CEO Edward “Ned” Rand, who resigned from the board June 26 following the completion of The Doctors Company’s acquisition of ProAssurance.

Srivastava will serve a one-year term and will be eligible for election to continued service at the MPL Association’s 2027 annual meeting.
