The Doctors Company is temporarily deferring policy cancellations and nonrenewals for nonpayment for members whose homes or medical practices have been affected by Oregon wildfires.
The grace period applies to members with home or practice addresses in designated ZIP codes and runs from July 31 through Aug. 30. The medical professional liability insurer said it could extend the period if circumstances warrant and add ZIP codes as damage assessments continue.
The deferment is being offered without interest or penalties, allowing affected practitioners to care for patients and address disruptions to their practices following the fires.
